Born overseas and raised in the wilderness of no return of Idaho, Nechama Katan has been solving problems since childhood—teaching her first student at four and delivering her first business presentation at ten. She spent eight years studying and living in New York City, a place that remains close to her heart, and now resides in Western Massachusetts, halfway between NYC and Boston.

Torn between a love of history and mathematics in high school, Nechama pursued both—history fueled her drive to make a difference, while mathematics gave her the ability to learn and adapt to anything. That ability has defined her career, spanning industries from high-tech to finance to healthcare and pharmaceuticals, always focused on helping organizations understand and use their data effectively.

As the founder and Chief Wizard of Wicked Problem Wizards, Nechama partners with small to mid-sized pharma, biotech companies, and technical solution providers to navigate clinical trial complexities, implement Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM), and build scalable, data-driven solutions. Her FLEX Model approach ensures solutions are strategic, practical, and seamlessly integrated into existing operations.

Before launching her consulting practice, Nechama was a Director of Data Science at a large pharmaceutical company, where she played a key role in developing RBQM capabilities, advancing analytics solutions, driving forensic analytics, and leading business transformation initiatives. She has also served as an adjunct professor in data science, teaching data analysis and visualization at multiple universities.

Beyond her consulting and technical expertise, Nechama is a dynamic speaker, panel moderator, and trainer, helping teams develop critical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and storytelling through effective data presentation.
